KATLA Helicopters is a family run business with a great group of people who are dedicated to provide you with an outstanding and safe experience. The entire team has an extreme passion for exploring the awesome natural beauty of Iceland and share it with people from all over the world.
Safety is the most important thing to us – We have strict policies and are using the latest proven safety practices and technology. All our pilots are very experienced in flying in the back-country of Iceland and have lots of knowledge about this unique environment.
Our Base is situated at the foot of Eyjafjallajökull right at the heart of Iceland’s most amazing scenery. Landmannalaugar, Hekla, Þórsmörk and many more of Iceland’s stunning natural wonders are right here at our door step.
OVER 10.000 HOURS OF OPS EXPERIENCE
Our Pilots have a vast range of experience in the remote area we operate in and undergo regular training for all possible emergencies.
TRACKED VIA SATELLITE
Our aircraft are contiously monitored via a state of the art satellite tracking system that pinpoints our position.
MAINTAINED TO THE HIGHEST STANDARD
All helicopters and equipment are maintained and tested to the highest standard. In addition the pilots give the a check-up every morning.

The spacious and luxurious Eurocopter AS350 offers a wide cabin with no obstructions that ensures optimum visibility for all passengers – all seats are forward facing
With a seating capacity of up to five passengers, the Squirrel (A-Star) is also ideal exclusive charters – while travelling in style the helicopter still retainins the versatility to land in almost any location.
