H²O

During this tour you get up and close to mighty Waterfalls and relentless Glaciers carving deep into the rock creating unqiue landscapes like scenes from another planet. Frozen or liquid – Water has shaped the heart and soul of Iceland and designed works of art unmatched and unrivaled.

WATERFALLS & GLACIERS

KATLA VOLCANO

This is a big one – partially buried underneath Mýrdalsjökull Katla is one of the most active volcanos of Iceland. Standing with over 1500m above sea-level Katla is truly one of the most poerful volcanos of Iceland and an eruption is long overdue having erupted roughly twice per century since 930 AD.

WATERFALLS & GLACIERS

ROARING RIVERS

We get up and close to the thundering glacier rivers to give you an amazing perspective of the power of H2O and how it has changed the landscapes of Iceland – Carving relentless into the rock the glacier rivers thunder through deep gorges and end in vast mellow river deltas – ying and yang.

WATERFALLS & GLACIERS

EYJAFJALLAJÖKULL

We take-off and fly up to the secret waterfall a 50 to 60 m high fall in Kaldaklifsár river canyon that not many people know about. From here we keep tracking west along the Sólheimajökull glacier a small icefall from the Mýrdalsjökull glacier – on to Gæsavatn a small creater lake with big canyons nearby – if the weather allows us we will go and explore – Next stop is a majestic icefall flowing down from the Katla volcano caldera of the Mýrdalsjökull glacier. Here we find green mountains surrounded by black sand river beds. Overflying the Katla volcano we pass by Móði and Magni two small volcanos formed during the 2010 eruption. On our right we see Steinsholtsjökull a small icefall.. After stopping on the glacier to enjoy the magnificent views we take off again and pass over the infamous Eyjafjallajökull.

On our final leg we enter the Hóltsárgil canyon with its big waterfall on our way back to base.
